Subject: [Air-l] Intro/bridging physical
and network space
</lurk>
Hi,
I recently
joined a project at the
Bauhaus Dessau Foundation to research the interplay between ICT and
urban spheres.
My interest lies in how new ICTs - e g
location-aware, networked and camera-equipped handheld devices - are
bridging the gap between physical and network space, linking spatial and
anti-spatial processes and creating new forms of social interaction and
community exchange. Some early examples
are geocaching, moblogging, mid-air messaging, location-based urban
games and wireless tagging.
It would be interesting to hear if anyone
else on the list is looking into similar issues, or have any tips on related
research or phenomena.
Thanks,
Jcb
