We are recruiting 3 PhD students for an interdisciplinary project which critically examines technologies and infrastructures of algorithmic warfare. PhD students would be based at Queen's University in Kingston, Canada, with options for degree completion in
Sociology, Cultural Studies, or Computing (depending on specialization).
The positions are funded at 40k per year and student for the duration of four years.
The preferred starting date is September 1, 2026; or alternatively January 1, 2027.
Applicants should have a background or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following fields/traditions: STS, critical approaches to computing, digital geography, surveillance studies, critical security studies, de-/anti-colonial theory, or cognate fields.
