Dear colleagues,

We are getting to the final days of the Call for Contributions for the II International Conference “Critical Cartographies of the Digital City”, which will take place on 5 and 6 November 2026 at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Madrid.

The conference examines how platform capitalism reorganises contemporary urban life, affecting infrastructures, borders, labour, care, and everyday arrangements. We are bringing together diverse disciplinary traditions to explore multi-scalar transformations, ranging from global capital circuits to neighbourhoods, homes, and bodies.

Proposals can address one or more of the main conference lines:

  1. Geographies of platformisation: Multi-scalar processes, spatial organisation of urban space, logistics, mobility, and methodological approaches.

  2. Digital labour and the crisis of social reproduction: Platformisation of domestic work, care, health, housing insecurity, migrant and feminised labour, and everyday survival.

  3. Futures of work: Automation, artificial intelligence, algorithmic management, precarity, worker struggles, and collective responses beyond platform capitalism.
