Dear colleagues, 

This is an open invitation to contribute to a Guide to Key Theories for Science and Technology Studies, that Dominique Vinck, Juan Carlos Moreno and myself are preparing. The guide is part of the Series Edward Elgar Guides to Key Theories and Concepts. It aims to bring together a broad range of theories within a given field, concisely explained to act as a vital reference point for advanced research, and to be of use to students at all levels and their lecturers. 

Even though the field of Science and Technology Studies does not rely on a unified set of theories, and is rather critical of general theories, it has developed many conceptual tools which nevertheless rest on social theoretical assumptions and engage with philosophical thinking. With this guide, we embrace this challenge in order to carve out the theories nested in the conceptual tools we use in our research, unfold and discuss how we inherit from them, and how we can put them to work.
