Hello AoIR community,

I would like to extend an invitation to this upcoming event on AI and the Digital Commons:

What are the impacts of AI scraping on the digital heritage sector and wider digital commons? And how are artists and creators using - and reimagining - the digital commons in the AI age? You’re invited to join the event “AI and the Digital Commons: Perspectives from online collections & archives” taking place on 15 July, 2026, in the Netherlands.

Through a creative zine making session and provocative conversations, we will imagine what digital commons futures could look like. If you’re a creative practitioner, heritage professional, digital commons expert, technologist or a curious researcher, come join us!

The event is hosted by the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision and the University of Edinburgh, as part of the ekip initiative, along with AIxDESIGN.
