Hybrid Method Workshop: How to Deal with Challenging Platform Environments? Ethics and Methodological Self-Reflection

We invite Master’s students, doctoral researchers and postdocs to a pre-conference method workshop on 18 November 2026 (10-17h CET) at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria (and online). The event is organised as part of the DGPuK Visual Communication Section conference on „25 years of images in focus. Paradigms, practices and perspectives“.

Together with invited speakers Moa Eriksson Krutrök, Veronica Bezold and Franziska Koschei, the workshop addresses ethical and methodological challenges of researching difficult platform environments, responsible research practices, and researcher self-reflection and care. Participants are invited to discuss challenges from their own projects in Reflexive Method & Ethics Circles.

Participation is free of charge. For the Method & Ethics Circles, please submit a short description of a current methodological or ethical challenge (max. 300 words) by 30 September 2026. Attendance of the keynotes only is also possible.
