Good idea; I second your proposal. There is a much more modest initiative
in the same direction. The journal Javnost/The Public publishes extended
abstracts (ca. 1000 words) of recent PhD dissertations related to
communication and culture. Both David Silver's and Keith Hampton's
dissertations appeared in previous issues. 


Persons who have recently completed dissertations are encouraged to
contact me regarding possible inclusion in this series.
