Subject: [Air-L] New journal announcement - Disinformation: An Interdisciplinary Journal

Dear all,

I’m really excited (!!) to share news that a new journal - Disinformation: An Interdisciplinary Journal - that I’ve been working on with colleagues for almost two years will launch with Sage in January 2027 and is now accepting submissions!

The journal is led by an editorial collective comprising myself, Gabi Mocatta (University of Tasmania), Raquel Recuero (Universidade Federal de Pelotas), Felipe Bonow Soares (University of the Arts London), and Robert Topinka (Birkbeck, University of London). Members of the collective rotate taking on the managing editor role; I'm currently serving in that role and would be very happy to answer any questions about the journal or discuss potential submissions. Hit me up!

Disinformation is dedicated to critical, interdisciplinary social science and humanities research on disinformation and disinformation studies. We are interested not only in understanding how disinformation is produced and spreads in various contexts, but also examining critically what gets labelled as "disinformation”, and why. We are particularly keen to encourage international perspectives and submissions from, and focusing on, the Global South. Alongside full-length research articles, we also aim to publish shorter interventions and commentaries from researchers and practitioners.

One other thing we’re super excited about: all articles will be published open-access with no APCs for authors!

You can find more information including our aims and scope, editorial board, and submission guideline here: https://journals.sagepub.com/home/DIN

If you know anyone else who might be interested in Disinformation, please circulate this announcement or send them our way.

Thanks and all best wishes,

Niki

On behalf of the Disinformation editorial collective (Gabi, Raquel, Felipe and Rob)
