Re: [Air-l] AIR 2007 in Vancouver or else
I too feel the location issue is better discussed in the general list. I have nothing against Vancouver, except that it may be far and expensive (travel wise) for many Europeans. But any location is likely to give relative advantage to some subset of the membership/attendees. If the rotation is meant to be once in "North America", once elsewhere, I'd like to remind that North America includes Mexico, from a strict geographic standpoint, and that the Caribbean is eventually as close (Puerto Rico having in addition special ties with the US, like the Virgin Islands). Both locations (Mexico and Caribbean) offer a lot of suitable resorts. And I certainly cross fingers for Italy to be selected some time soon as it is a paradise for thinking as well as feeding :-) Michel -- ================================================================= Dr. Michel J. i think latin america is on the table, i know that when i was in the exec, i mentioned oaxaca and sao paolo as possibilities, we thought about the caribbean, but we always have air i sept. and oct. which means... hurricane season. so i wanted to push more southerly. i do not know what is on the current exec's agenda though. I suspect the rotation will be north america next, then europe, mainly because north america provides sustaining capital beyond the base operations, because we have more members here and thus more people interior to this continent.
