danah,
My home institute HIIT is looking for a postdoc in ICT-mediated social interaction. The ad for the position is below - if someone comes to mind who might be interested, please spread the word!
I believe the position would be even more fun than the description below makes it sound and it'll be in a team that accommodates folks doing research such as mine, too, so no one should be intimidated by the psychophysiological recordings and such that are mentioned :) Someone who's interested in privacy would be amazing but other lines of research are perfectly fair game, too, of course!
Airi

We are looking for a POSTDOC RESEARCHER in the area of ICT-MEDIATED SOCIAL INTERACTION for a three-year period.

Methodological approaches include also psychophysiological recordings (e.g., EEG, facial EMG).
The tasks of the Postdoc researcher include carrying out state-of-the-art academic research with the best possible collaborators, reasonable freedom, and opportunities for a high impact. We strongly favor inter-group and interdisciplinary interaction. The researcher is also expected to participate in the preparation of new research projects.
We appreciate the following characteristics:
* Appropriate education (PhD in computer or information science, social psychology, psychology, cognitive science, or a closely related field)
* Proactive approach to work
* Ability to co-operate in a multidisciplinary research team and with partners of international projects
* Solid experience in research work as witnessed by international peer-reviewed publications
* Expertise with psychophysiological methods (e.g., facial EMG, EEG) is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
The salary for the post will be based on the Universities' salary system. For further information of the task, please contact Professor Niklas Ravaja at +358 50 3605191.
