While I was working in the Federated Staes of Micronesia about 4 years ago, they came up with the idea of marketing their .fm domain name to radio stations, however I have found very little evidence of it being taken up by radio stations. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, except in the case of Tonga where ".to" is a cool suffix for a domain name.
