Laszlo Check out Homeless Nation - http://homelessnation.org/en/about - "a website by and for the homeless" from Canada - I came across it a couple of years ago. It's interesting and maybe helpful to you as a starting point. Yes, seconding Jeff's recommendation. I follow these folks (I think the same people) on Twitter, here: https://twitter.com/vanpoverty ~ Jessie On Wed, Feb 18, 2009 at 10:10 PM, Jeff Mascornick <jjm4114@yahoo.com> wrote:

Hi everyone, Some interesting discussions on the internet and homelessness proved another good example of social technology. I am interested in any theoretical background readings or frameworks in studing this field. I also want to have some examplary cases of social technologies other than Wikipedia, MySpace, Blogs, and Facebook. Do you have any specific area that Web 2.0 changes? If you let me share your ideas, it will be appreciated. Jin School of Communication Simon Fraser University
Dear all I know two projects that have been addressing the issue of homeless and making possible their access and use of internet: In France, the project "internet de rues", have a look at: http://www.internetderue.net/-Publics-eloignes-.html Contact the coordinators so they can explain you the initiatives they developped... Besides, the NGO Crisis in UK has been doing some actions regarding the use of ICT by homeless, more oriented towards digital storytelling, http://www.crisis.org.uk/ I found this issue very interesting, please spread your paper once it is finished, Good luck Alexandra -----Original Message----- From: air-l-bounces@listserv.aoir.org [mailto:air-l-bounces@listserv.aoir.org] On Behalf Of Jessie Daniels Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 4:45 AM To: air-l@listserv.aoir.org; jjm4114@yahoo.com Subject: Re: [Air-L] internet and homelessness Yes, seconding Jeff's recommendation. My landlord provides social housing and it is great that one can view their vacancies on the web and thus shop for housing on-line before one moves to a new city. I am sure other cities have similar examples.
