CFP: Living in the Internet of Things - Cybersecurity of the IoT
Living in the Internet of Things: Cybersecurity of the IoT A PETRAS, IoTUK & IET Event 28 - 29 March 2018 IET London, UK http://events.theiet.org/petras/ CALL FOR PAPERS We invite submissions to the first Living in the Internet of Things conference, a joint PETRAS, IoTUK and IET event, which will be held in London in March 2018. We are already living in a world of interconnected devices, and as the “Second Digital Revolution” proceeds apace we see exciting opportunities and new challenges. The Living in the Internet of Things conference will be an open forum for providing insight into how society can benefit from the power of IoT while remaining safe, secure and resilient. The conference is distinctive in its sociotechnical scope, embracing technical disciplines together with the social sciences, to explore critical issues in privacy, ethics, trust, reliability, acceptability, and security. We especially welcome papers which reflect experience and emerging practice in addressing these areas. The themes and topics listed below are examples and not intended as an exhaustive list. As well as these cross-cutting topics we welcome papers which focus on specific domains, e.g. healthcare, home, entertainment (toys and games), transport, cities, energy, environment, manufacturing, industrial control and critical infrastructure. Adoption and acceptability * Design principles for adoption and acceptability * Case studies in home, public spaces, campus * Codes of practice * Understanding implications for adoption * Evaluation of prototypes * Narratives to facilitate adoption * Responsible innovation in IoT Safety and security * Security risk assessment in IoT * Usable security for IoT * Human factors in securing IoT infrastructures * Security and safety in industrial IoT * IoT threats and attack vectors * Resilience of IoT-based infrastructures * Building automation and BIM * Secure connectivity in IoT * Security in mobile and wireless communications Privacy and trust * Design principles for trust and privacy * Data sharing, analytics and preserving privacy * Authentication and access control in IoT * Mechanisms for consent * Location and mobility privacy * IoT privacy modelling and analysis * Anonymous data mining and data sharing * Information hiding * Trust and security in the supply chain * Standards, governance and policy Regulatory gaps * Consent and data protection * Security by default / design principles * Certification and best practices * Liability and cyber risk Insurance * Policy approaches to resilient IoT * Public and private governance approaches * International political dimension * Cultures of security Harnessing economic value * Value of personal data and analytics * Uses of blockchain for IoT * Use of IoT technology for Industry 4.0 * Emerging meanings of value in the IoT space * Developments in risk analysis and cyber insurance * Innovative business models in cyber security * Challenges to existing business models * Analysing and predicting market trends * Economics of risk SUBMISSION Abstracts (one page max including diagrams, 10pt font) should be submitted via the conference web site (http://events.theiet.org/petras/) by 10 November 2017. Successful abstracts will be invited by the Programme Committee for full paper submission or selected for poster presentation. Full papers (8-10 pages max, or around 6500 words) will be due in January 2018 and, subject to sucessful review, will be published in the IET Digital Library (indexed by IET Inspec, IEEE Xplore and EI Compendex).
