We seek a scholar specializing in media studies with critical approaches to technology, justice, and equity. Areas of research may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: * alternative technological imaginaries * data, algorithms, and/or platforms * game studies * labor and precarity * global inequalities * decolonial movements * disability studies * gender and sexuality * racial equity The successful candidate will have an established record of scholarly publications or be able to demonstrate significant potential for research productivity commensurate with the expectations of a Carnegie Very High Research Activity doctoral degree-granting (“R-1”) institution. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Responsibilities will be split between research (40%), teaching/mentorship (40%), and service to the department, university, and profession (20%). The standard teaching load is 2-2. In addition to teaching existing courses in the department, you will be asked to develop courses in your area of expertise. You will have an opportunity to work with undergraduate and graduate students in the department.
