Hi Karin,
In addition to Sharon's excellent suggestions, my book 'Extreme Mean: Ending Cyberabuse at School, Work and Home)(Random House, 2014, paperback) analyses online communication (youth and adult) within an abuse framework and reaches, in some cases, darker conclusions than boyd's. I have also reproduced previously unpublished online messaging, such as the Facebook attacks in the Amanda Todd (no relation) suicide case to help explore the machinations and mechanism of online communication.

Dear Internet researchers,
I am looking for recent and ongoing work on tween and teenagers' communication practices online and offline. I am especially interested in ethnographies, but anything related is interesting.
The reason is a pilot study of Swedish school children Ï am planning (as part of a larger research project on the transformation of work), and I am happy to connect with other researchers in this area.
Best regards,

Hello, interesting thread :) I would like to suggest two publications from my PhD research based on qualitative interviews with (more than 50) teenagers from different socio-economic background and attending different type of schools (academic oriented high schools and vocational schools). The first article focus on Facebook use. The second is on Internet use in general but taking into consideration the role of parents. Micheli, Marina. 2016. “Social Networking Sites and Low-Income Teenagers: Between Opportunity and Inequality.” *Information, Communication & Society* 19 (5): 565–81. http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/1369118X.2016.1139614 Micheli, Marina. 2015. “What Is New in the Digital Divide? Emerald Group Publishing Limited. http://www.emeraldinsight.com/doi/full/10.1108/S2050-206020150000010003. You could also check out the report of the Net Children Go Mobile project that includes both qualitative and quantitative data (paragraph 4 is on "communication practices" while 9 is on "mobile internet in schools"): Mascheroni, G. and Ólafsson, K.
