Centre for Material Digital Culture Department of Media and Film University of Sussex, UK RESEARCH SEMINAR /VISITING SPEAKER SERIES: Douglas Kahn (University of California, Davis, Technocultural Studies Program, Dept of Music, and Art History) will be speaking on: 'Media Ventriloquism' 5:00pm, Wednesday, February 27, (Week Eight). Room: EDB 121 Douglas Kahn researches intersections of history, theory and contemporary practice in art, music, literature, media arts, cinema, sound, electromagnetism, science, technology and politics, from the late-19th Century to the present, with an emphasis on avant-garde, experimentalism, bohemian and subcultural activities. He is author of Noise, Water, Meat: A History of Sound in the Arts (MIT), and co-editor of Wireless Imagination: Sound, Radio and the Avant-garde (MIT).
