Dear all I am planning to submit a paper to IRv4 broadening the discussion of the digital divide, and as I see no signs of anyone offering to organise a Panel about that I decided to volunteer to do so. The idea is to take the discussion further from the 'with economic means to access/without access' dichotomy, bringing other factors, such as quality of access and cultural matters, to the equation. Obviously this does not mean to exclude the issue of wired/unwirable. General concerns on human geography and web design, focusing on digital divisions and hierarchies would be welcome. Anyone interested in organising this panel with me (or thinking of organising something similar and afraid of me getting in the way), please get in touch at suely@icaro.unisinos.br Sue Fragoso Dr. Suely Fragoso UNISINOS Sao Leopoldo RS BRASIL ------- End of forwarded message -------
Suely, Yes I would like to. I can think about participants from the French-speaking world. If there is a sense in organising such a panel it should move beyond the access question, and beyond the standard perspective from North America. Cheers /Frank Thomas Rosny, France Suely Fragoso wrote:

I concur, on both accounts. Susan Kretchmer and I are organizing a panel that will explore accessiblity issues for those with disabilities. I would like to see all of these issues explored in more detail, particularly what it means to offer meaningful inclusive information architectures throughout the world. Robert Frank Thomas wrote:

I wonder if one panel could approach both, access for those with disabilities and different access conditions throughout the world. I understand that the issues converge but also bear their distinctions. I would like to know the opinion of others so we can join efforts or/and propose different approaches, whatever appears best for most. Sue On 20 Feb 2003 at 14:06, Robert Luke wrote:
