wiki tool suggestions?
Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions for wiki software to use with a class. I don't want to have to install anything, and am of course looking for something simple to set up and use. When this question was asked some time ago, the following sites were suggested: http://www.mediawiki.org http://phpwiki.sourceforge.net/ http://moodle.org/ http://pbwiki.com/ http://www.seedwiki.com http://www.pmwiki.org/ What would you recommend now? Thanks, Catherine Middleton
Catherine, I saw a presentation on the use of Socialtext for elearning this afternoon, and the product looks promising. The company produces a for-fee and an open source version of this wiki software. I would still recommend pbwiki I have tried several others -but come back to pbwiki its easy to figure out and free - set it up - send the "magic url" to collaborators and students and start my students have figured it very easily. We have multiple wikis - in class, and for research collaborations. r Radhika Gajjala Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator School of Communication Studies 302 West Hall Bowling Green State University Bowling Green, OH 43402 http://personal.bgsu.edu/~radhik http://www.cyberdiva.org/blog
