Civic media workshop at NCA
If you are attending the National Communication Association Conference in Philadelphia in November, please consider attending this free workshop on Civic Media: Wed, 11/9: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Marriott Downtown Room: Room 403 - Level 4 Technology, Civic Participation and Social Change: Exploring Civic Media Across Practice, Research and Pedagogy This seminar will map the emerging study of civic media to the communication field and present various cases studies and theoretical perspectives that specifically explore the relationship between citizens, technologies and engagement in digital culture. Participants will engage in breakout sessions that explore the role of civic media in contemporary communication practice, research and pedagogy, and detail potential possibilities and challenges. Interested persons should submit a few sentences summarizing what they hope to get out of the seminar and any experience, knowledge or exposure to civic media they currently have.
