Support Needed for Formation of ICA Human-Machine Communication Interest Group
Apologies for cross posting. If you are a member of the International Communication Association (ICA), please consider signing the petition to establish a Human-Machine Communication Interest Group at ICA by December 20, 2018. Human-Machine Communication research focuses on the development of meaning between people and technology that is designed to enact the role of communicator. It encompasses research within Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Robot Interaction, and Human-Agent Interaction focused on aspects of people’s interactions with machines as well as the outcomes for individuals, for society, and for the study of communication itself. The goal of the HMC Interest Group is to provide an institutional space aimed at fostering research and developing a network of scholars. In keeping with the ethos of our preconferences, the HMC Interest Group would be inclusive of the different theoretical and methodological approaches to research within ICA and strive to engage scholars at every level of their career. Any member of ICA can sign the petition as long as they are current on their dues. To add your name in support visit: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ILMtFvOtYE0QRTUxyVB7qNFfVasZCe_dsKqN...
