Dear colleagues, Influencer Ethnography Research Lab [IERLab] at Curtin University is excited to announce a fully funded PhD scholarship opportunity for a project titled ‘*Mapping the ‘K-’ flow via K-Influencers in global social media pop cultures*’. Jin ** *Mapping the ‘K-’ flow via K-Influencers in global social media pop cultures* This PhD project will examine the K-influencer ecology in the Asia Pacific region, by investigating the flow of ‘K-‘ capital (acronym of Korean culture) in social media pop cultures. It aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the interactions, tensions, and symbiotic relationships between Influencers, industries, governments, and technological bodies within the broader social media landscape. This PhD project will be conducted at the Influencer Ethnography Research Lab (IERLab) (https://ierlab.com/), led by Professor Crystal Abidin as Director and Dr Jin Lee as a Research Fellow and core team member. The IERLab consists of an interdisciplinary and international team of social scientists dedicated to examining the socio-cultural influence of Influencers. The project will align with the ethos of the IERLab by employing a localized, contextualized, and multilingual approach, with a specific focus on prioritizing Internet research from the Asia Pacific region and Global South.
