your lengthy and well thought out replies are appreciated, and I am pleased to advise that many of my fellow students have been watching this debate with great interest - seeing some of the world's leading authorities in the area of online ethics research put forward their views has been an exceptional learning experience.

It appears there are an abundance of links on the internet which argue for the High Privacy model in internet research. Perhaps its time for those who strongly support a High Public Access model to get their heads together and flood the market with papers, reports, case studies and policy documents arguing their side of the coin. :-)
