JENKINS TO PRESENT STEVE JONES INTERNET RESEARCH LECTURE IN 2005 NCA CONVENTION The Carl Couch Center for Social and Internet Research (www.cccsir.org) sponsors the annual presentation of Steve Jones Internet Research Lecture Series at the annual convention of the National Communication Association (NCA). In the 2005 NCA Convention, November 17-20 in Boston, the Jones Lecture Series presents a lecture by Henry Jenkins (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). In his lecture, “Spoiling Survivor: Anatomy of a Knowledge Culture,” Jenkins asks the audience to imagine Survivor as informational warfare-- a giant cat and mouse game played between the producers and the audience, as he details how the audience will try to exhaust all the resources to figure out the game before the producers reveal what happened. Henry Jenkins, Director of the Comparative Media Studies Program at MIT, is a leader of the Education Arcade. The lecture is scheduled on Friday, November 18, 6:30-7:45 PM in Kent, Sheraton.
