A special session will be devoted to Music. The focus of this session will be the development of instruments and other technologies in direct response to artistic desires expressed by musicians. Frequently artists have adapted non-artistic technologies for artistic uses, but better interaction between artists and engineers may lead to more directly productive invention. This session asks the questions "What do musicians wish technologists were building?", "What new paradigms and approaches need to be developed to advance the musical arts technologically?", and "What technological development is currently underway specifically to address expressed artistic needs of musicians?"
