[AoIR HQ] Two upcoming talks in the AoIR lecture series
Dear AoIR community, We have two upcoming events in our ongoing legacy talk series, and we'd love to see you all there! As a quick reminder, you need to be an AoIR member to participate, but you can join today at members.aoir.org. Membership also unlocks member-only rates for our annual conference and access to our members-only newsletter, AoIR Waves! *A Roundtable on Community: Community in Internet Research* *23 June 2026, 14:00–15:30 CEST, on Zoom (but what time is that ... for me) <https://dateful.com/convert/central-european-summer-time-cest?t=2pm&tz2=PST-PDT-Pacific-Time>* Susanna Paasonen, Crystal Abidin, and Raquel Recuero join us to reflect on AoIR's community, past and present. The session asks what AoIR has been as a community, not only as an academic association. It will run for 45 minutes, followed by 45 minutes of Q&A and discussion. *A Talk with Former AoIR President Prof. Jennifer Stromer-Galley**6 July 2026, 11:00–12:00 EDT, on Zoom **(but what time is that ... for me) <https://dateful.com/convert/est-edt-eastern-time?t=11am&tz2=PST-PDT-Pacific-Time>* Prof. Stromer-Galley joins us after having served as AoIR's president from 2015 to 2017. More details on the subject of her lecture will follow closer to the date. The talk will run for 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A and audience input. Registration links for both sessions are on our events page, again, only visible to our members. Zoom links are shared once you register. Best, Emerson *(she/her)* AoIR Communications and Membership Coordinator ac@aoir.org *Looking for Michelle? *After nine years, Michelle has officially stepped down from her position at AOIR. I'm Emerson, and I'll be stepping in to continue her work. As I'm sure anyone familiar with Michelle knows, I have big shoes to fill, and I appreciate your patience as I get up to speed!
