Thanks to Jonathan for asking about the 4S Conference in Vancouver. I had meant to post and suggest that people who are attending the conference or in the area and interested in Internet studies might meet for a drink. Are people from the list who are attending interested in meeting after the reception on Thursday or Friday evening? All my best, Michele White
Dear Eliezier Could you contact me off list with your current email please? Many thanks. Kate O'Riordan k.oriordan at lancaster.ac.uk
either way works for me, its probably best if we set a time and a meeting location in the conference hotel so we all have a sense of when to meet. Jon On 10/23/06, Michele White <mwhite@michelewhite.org> wrote:

Great idea! I just heard that 6S is sponsoring a trip to the Vancouver Art Gallery on Thursday night, so I'll tentatively vote for Friday night. Since I didn't make it to AoIR in Australia this year it will be great to hear about it from those also attending 4S. Best, Anna On 10/24/06, Jonathan Stern <jonlwstern@gmail.com> wrote:

While on the topic of meeting up at other conferences, it would be great to see some of you at the National Communication Association meeting in San Antonio, Texas, USA, coming up in a couple or so weeks. I'd also like to invite you to a lecture by and discussion with Gary Chapman (see bio at http://www.utexas.edu/opa/experts/ profile.php?id=68) sponsored by the Carl Couch Center for Social and Internet Research. The details: Scheduled Time: Fri, Nov 17 - 9:30am - 10:45am Building/Room: Convention Center / Room 218 Title: "Free tools, cheap boxes and data mules: A more affordable Internet spreads around the world." I'll be chairing the session. Let me know if you're going to be at NCA and perhaps we can have a mini-AoIR coffee break if nothing else. I'll try to coordinate among those who will be there. Having missed what from all accounts as a great meeting in Brisbane, that might help tide me over a bit until the next meeting in Vancouver. Sj On Oct 26, 2006, at 6:56 AM, O'Riordan, Kate wrote:
