Um, thanks for this - can anyone tell me _which_ airport we should fly into - Toronto City Centre or Toronto Pearson? (Sorry for cluttering up the list - but the conference web site seems to be unavailable at the moment, and so perhaps I'm not the only one with the question?) Toronto Pearson is the only international airport, receiving flights from the U.S. and the rest of the world. Toronto City Centre must be Toronto Island Airport and I think it only receives national commuter flights, although there might be some connections from the U.S. Pearson is the one that most of you will want; you can pick pick up a bus there for downtown Toronto, or take a taxi if you want to pay about $30 Cdn. The distance to downtown Toronto is about 20 miles, about the same as from LaGuardia to Grand Central Station in NY.........Alex alex.kuskis@utoronto.ca ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles Ess" <cmess@lib.drury.edu> To: <air-l@aoir.org> Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 3:28 PM Subject: Re: [Air-l] last day for Air Canada seatsale!

My response is now too late vis a vis the sale, but the Toronto City Centre airport is very small and currently does not allow jets. So it's only the small planes going in there and I wouldn't think too frequently. It's close enough to the Hilton but the airport is on an island and you are ferried and then bussed to the Royal York Hotel. Besides, it's politically "hot", grassroots groups of downtown residents and environmentalists have been working for years to shut that thing down. Pearson is the international airport that all regularly scheduled flights and most charters use. Rhiannon Charles Ess wrote:
