Dear colleagues, We are excited to invite you to the SVI Conference 2025 – an international, interdisciplinary academic conference fully dedicated to game design and game studies. For the first time, the conference will take place in Bydgoszcz, Poland, hosted by the Department of Game Studies and Digital Culture at Kazimierz Wielki University, in collaboration with the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad (Serbia). This 4th edition of SVI brings together researchers, designers, and academics working on: Game design Game analysis and narrative structures Cultural, artistic, and industrial contexts of games Keynote Speakers Clara Fernández-Vara (NYU Game Center) - game researcher, narrative designer, and author of Introduction to Game Analysis (3rd edition) Bruno Faidutti - renowned board game designer (Citadels, Mascarade, Knightmare Chess) with over 40 published titles Conference Details Dates: December 1–2, 2025 Location: Kazimierz Wielki University, Bydgoszcz, Poland Participation: On-site or online Website: https://sviconference.org Call for Papers Abstract submission deadline: September 30, 2025 Length: 200–300 words + up to 5 keywords Submit to: conference.svi@gmail.com Participation Fees On-site: €50 (includes lunch) Online: €40 We warmly invite you to submit your abstract and join us in Bydgoszcz - a growing hub for digital culture and game studies.
