The papers will cover a wide range of issues on ‘race’ and ethnicity in relation to the cultural industries, from the experience of creative work, and cultural production, to the representation of multiculture in the media. Subjects include British jazz and the Black Creative City, the BBC and the politics of representation; racial struggles for work in post-civil rights Hollywood, Islamophobia in the news media, and online technologies, anti-racism and postcolonial communications.
