Re: [Air-L] media and social change networks?
Dear Julian (and All) At the EASA Media Anthropology Network we are indeed beginning to look collectively at media and social change, which is where Annette was coming from in her original query. You are all welcome to visit and comment on our site where you'll find a series of blog posts on this issue, incl. on social media and other internet topics: http://mediasocialchange.net/ All the best John Dr John Postill EASA Media Anthropology Network convener j.postill@shu.ac.uk ------ Original Message ------ Received: Tue, 31 May 2011 02:24:04 PM CEST From: "Julian Hopkins" <reach@julianhopkins.net> To: <air-l@listserv.aoir.org> Subject: Re: [Air-L] media and social change networks?
You might want to have a look at the EASA Media Anthropology Network list - they don't focus specifically on media and social change, but it certainly comes up a lot.

Hi All,
I'm trying to get a sense of what research collectives/networks focus specifically on media and social change. If you know of any, could you post to this list?
I realize this is a huge category, but I'm trying to get a sense of how this general topic is being approached, either within-discipline, across disciplines, or outside academia. My query is deliberately vague to try to generate the breadth of this topic area.
(I also ask because I just returned from a workshop focused on creating a research network on media and social change within media anthropology and I'd like to ascertain how closely this network would align with other efforts)
Thanks for anything you provide. I'd be happy to share a collection of anything that emerges from this inquiry.
annette
