A suggestion for reading lists and syllabi
Hello all, As we all know, one of the routine uses for this listserv is to request reading suggestions, syllabi, and other course related materials. I was wondering if it would be possible to establish some sort of reading list, syllabus, assignment, etc. exchange on the AoIR website as a central place to share this information. I have used these pages for other groups and find they are very helpful, particularly when it comes to finding appropriate readings for undergrads. I realize that setting up and maintaining such a page would require additional thought and debate. I am just putting the idea out there for future consideration and discussion (maybe in Denver?). I also realize that adding a feature to the website is extra work for someone, and so, I would be willing to help if the idea is carried forward. Andrea -- Andrea L. Just to semi-second this, does AoIR not have a wiki for resources on the main website? It'd be cool if we could keep an opt-in archive of bibliographies, syllabi, research tools, etc. Alex --- Alexander Leavitt PhD Student USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism http://alexleavitt.com Twitter: @alexleavitt On Mon, Aug 5, 2013 at 7:40 AM, Andrea Guzman <aguzma31@uic.edu> wrote:

That's a great idea. In the meantime: I'm at a conference this week, but I plan on collecting all the responses I got to recent question here on a google doc, and sharing it with the list. /Alan Sent hurriedly from a small keyboard. On Aug 5, 2013, at 9:40, "Andrea Guzman" <aguzma31@uic.edu> wrote:

Hi all, Long time lurker. I set up a Google Site for this type of function. It started with work from researchers and educators in the Literacy Researchers Association that wanted to build up a collection of open ed resources. The syllabi and teaching resources section is pretty sparse right now. But, it should pick up quickly as I have students in my graduate program populating and cleaning up the resources. https://sites.google.com/site/textsandtools/ If you're interested in getting involved...shoot me your Google Account and I'll add you as an editor. If you want to use it...feel free. -Ian O'Byrne _________________________ W.
