Planning ahead for Milwaukee 2009
Dear Colleagues..... Beer. Bratwurst. The Bronze Fonz. While anyone that lives in Milwaukee can tell you that the city holds much more than these few treasured icons, we have decided to just embrace the stereotypes with the short amount of time we have and invite conference attendees to visit two of our most popular breweries: Lakefront and Sprecher! Here are links to the breweries: Lakefront: http://www.lakefrontbrewery.com/ Sprecher: http://www.sprecherbrewery.com/index.php Tentatively, we will charter a bus to transport attendees between the conference venue/hotel, breweries, and an as-yet undecided restaurant, which will occur on Wednesday evening, October 7th. The cost, NOT including dinner, will be around twenty US dollars; this includes transportation and a tour, beer tastings, and a souvenir glass at each brewery. We would like to get an idea of how many conference-goers would be interested in attending such event, so that we can plan accordingly (i.e. reserve buses and tour times). Thank you in advance for letting us know! We look forward to seeing you in Brew City! Please respond to beer goddess Erin Hvizdak, at ehvizdak@uwm.edu.
