Other conferences in Europe in October?
Hi All I am aiming to come to Copenhagen for the conference this year, but Brisbane to Denmark is a long way to go for one conference, so I am wondering whether anyone is running, or knows of, any other conferences in the area of internet/new media/games studies that might be happening in the 2 weeks either side of the AoIRs conference, somewhere in the European general vicinity. cheers Sal Dr Sal Humphreys Post Doctoral Fellow Creative Industries Faculty Z6 501 The Hub Queensland University of Technology Musk Ave Kelvin Grove 4059 Brisbane, Australia s.humphreys@qut.edu.au Ph. 61 7 3138 8175 Mob. 0414 456 078 http://www.salhumphreys.org Projects: http://edgex.org.au http://www.cci.edu.au/programs/gamesandlaw

Matthew and others looking for upcoming conferences in the USA, you'd be quite welcome at the Media Ecology Association Convention this coming June. The original deadline for submissions has been extended and I'm sure the MEA will try to be as flexible about last-minute submissions as AoIR is (grin). Perhaps you would like to visit MindTrek conference in October 7-9, 2008, in Tampere, Finland. For more information http://www.mindtrek.org. The call for abstracts should be open during the following week at the very latest. Topics are related to social media, ubiquitous technologies and games. You find the MindTrek group also from Facebook. Best regards Katri Lietsala Kimberly De Vries wrote:
