As part of a major expansion of its research programs in Communication, the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions; one in Public Relations and the second in International Communication and Digital Media. Title of the positions: Assistant Professor Duties: The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities revealed by research or professional work; c) academic service activities; d) supervision of graduate students. Terms: Tenure-track position Salary: The salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $77,379.00 Benefits package: The University of Ottawa provides a complete compensation package which includes long term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, University of Ottawa Pension Plan and optional life insurance. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Communication (preferred) or in a related field. . Candidates must have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed publications in Public Relations or Marketing Communication. . Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of theories in Public Relations and/or Marketing Communication. . Preference will be given to candidates developing a research program relating to the digital ecosystem. . Candidates must be able to teach in English or in French at the time of hire and must possess a passive understanding of the other official language. Active bilingualism at the time of hire is an asset and is required in order to receive tenure . Experience in teaching preferred. . Experience supervising masters and doctoral students would be an asset. # 2 International Communication and Digital Media. Skill Requirements: . Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Communication (preferred) or in a related field. . Candidates must have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed publications in International Communication and Digital Media. . Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of contemporary approaches in International Communication as well as Digital Media. . Preference will be given to candidates developing a research program that relates to globalization in media ecosystems and digital platforms. . Preference will be given to candidates using quantitative methods in their research program. . Candidates must be able to teach in English or in French at the time of hire and must possess a passive understanding of the other official language. Active bilingualism at the time of hire is an asset and is required in order to receive tenure . Experience in teaching preferred. .
