If I am not mistaken this is not the first time that this communique is sent to our list. And to many others, and to individuals (I just get one, again, although I protested several times). It does not present the latest news about this endeavour but is a basic promotional pamphlet whose distribution is close to Spam. As I stressed after earlier postings, the claim of this group to be "the first forum to portuguese and spanish speaking specialists, under the structure of an internet gate", even with the mention of a particular technical platform, is inexact, if it points to chronology, and excessive, not to say more, if it points to importance. It is also intriguing that a portal open to all so conspicuoulsy avoids links to other regional endeavours in the same area (e.g. http://funredes.org/mistica). Even though the latter are conducting for quite a while investigations that are only contemplated by "Sociedad Digital". The latter is however offering courses to the business community, though not for profit and claiming to reinvest the return into the yet to be launched investigation programme. The choice of material presented is not less intriguing than the list of sponsors is impressive. The apparent contradictions in the picture of this organization makes one wonder what it is really about and trying to achieve. And perhaps also points to the ease with which "cyberempires" can be built. Michel J.
