We're a small teaching college in Dover DE and we're looking for a tenure track assistant professor to replace someone who's retiring. Here's the job description, from higheredjobs.com: Wesley College in Dover, Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Media Arts to begin with the 2014-2015 academic year. Primary teaching responsibilities will include beginning and advanced classes in video and audio production. An expertise in social media or digital photography is a plus. Teaching will also include departmental core courses and might include courses in the college's common core. Typical load is 4/4. Candidates are expected to remain current with ever changing technologies. The faculty member will also advise and mentor undergraduate students and should be capable of inspiring students to operate the Wesley College television and radio studios. The faculty member will be expected to work cooperatively toward integrating media in an online environment. Wesley College is looking for a strong candidate who can demonstrate a desire to teach, mentor, and advise undergraduates. A strong candidate should be interested in program development and in helping the Media Arts program evolve in a rapidly changing media environment. For tenure, the candidate must have demonstrated scholarship, excellence in teaching and advising students. Service to the department and to the college community is also required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. or M.F.A. in media production or related discipline. Exceptional candidates holding a Master's degree and having extensive professional experience may be considered. Candidates must be able to provide evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience or interest in advising college student media is highly valued.
