organizing a session at HCII 2009
Dear all I am the chair of the 3rd International Conference on Online Communities and Social Computing to be organized as part of the HCI International conference between 19-24 July 09 in San Diego California. More information about the conference: http://www.hcii2009.org/ I would like to invite AoIR members to consider organizing sessions as part of the conference. If you are interested in organizing a session please email me a title and a short description of the session you would like to organize Responsibilities of Session Organizers Session organizers are responsible for: Inviting 7 prospective authors (academics, researchers and practitioners known in the field for their acknowledged work) to submit paper contributions. Organizing and carrying out the peer-review process on the basis of the full paper or of an extended abstract. Together, the papers in this session should, in a complementary way, cover in breadth and in depth the thematic topic of your choice. This topic should contribute to the overall goals of the conference, and should be compatible with its specific objectives. regards Panayiotis
//Yet another conference mail - apologies for spamming non-attendants!// To those of you going to Cph very soon and wondering how to pack your bags: The current weather reports promises 12-15 degrees celcius during daytime next week, with some light showers and hopefully also patches of sun from Thursday - Saturday. So do bring the umbrella, and don't fear the frost! (we shouldnt go lower than 5 degree celcius at night...) And for those other last minute practical questions, don't forget to check out our (recently updated) FAQ and Best of Copenhagen items on the conference website!
