Hi Erhardt, In addition to the work already mentioned, there is a lot of research in the communication, social psych and sociology traditions on online dating. First authors you might want to google (scholar) include: Andrea Baker Nicole Ellison Andrew Fiore Jennifer Gibbs Jeff Hancock Catalina Toma Monica Whitty There is also a pew report on online dating from 2006 that might be useful (Madden & Lenhart). Good luck, nicole
I dont think this was mentioned yet: the anthropologist Nicole Constable wrote a book about the online and offline relationships between white males and filipina mail-order brides - its called 'Romance on a Global Stage: Pen Pals, Virtual Ethnography, and "Mail Order" Marriages' - not sure if that qualifies as dating or not though. cheers, Mathieu ----- Original Message ----- From: Nicole Ellison <nellison@msu.edu> Date: Thursday, February 25, 2010 7:27 am Subject: [Air-L] Online Dating Studies To: air-l@listserv.aoir.org
