Free webinar by Dr Jen Ross - What is 'distance', anyway? (Still) teaching online in pandemic times
Members are invited to attend a free webinar on Monday, February 15th at 12:00 UK time with Dr Jen Ross - Senior Lecturer in Digital Education, and co-director of the Centre for Research in Digital Education. The talk, titled 'what is 'distance', anyway? (Still) teaching online in pandemic times' will be hosted by the School of Lifelong Learning and Education and the Critical Cultural Studies in Education Research Group at the University of East Anglia. The talk reflects on a year of radical shifts in the politics and practices of higher education teaching, and what that's looked like from the perspective of a teacher and researcher who has been exploring with students and colleagues for more than a decade how "online can be the privileged mode" (Manifesto for Teaching Online 2011, 2016, 2020). The nature and limits of that privilege are under the lens here as Jen explores issues of contact, trust, and the shifting meanings of 'distance' in pandemic times. We look forward to welcoming you there. Please do share this with interested parties.
