ROBLOX WORKSHOP - birds of a feather is back!
Date 07 December 2026 Time: 08:00 - 10:00 AM EST Location: online One year ago researchers studying Roblox gathered online for our first birds of a feather workshop. This December 7, we will come together once again for a second edition, this time “turning towards the south”. We welcome researchers at any career stage, familiar faces and newcomers alike, from any discipline or research approach who are interested in Roblox, to join us. This workshop will include: * collective discussion of participants’ research * a networking activity * a cooperative mapping of our network As Roblox continues to expand — with 132 million daily active users across all regions of the world (Roblox, 2026) — users play, create, and socialize on the platform under very different conditions, shaped by language, culture, access, regulation, and economic opportunities. “Turning toward the South” is an invitation, not a requirement. We warmly welcome researchers from anywhere who study any context related to the Roblox platform, including those whose work focuses on users or environments in the Global North. Whether your research relates directly to the Global South or you’re curious about how this perspective might enrich your work curious about what this perspective might enrich your work, there’s a place for you in this edition of the workshop.
