This discussion is timely following the recent approval of the Global Digital Compact by the United Nations General Assembly, as it emphasizes the crucial role of international collaboration in AI development, deployment, and governance. It is also closely aligned with the work of the Policy Network on AI (PNAI) processes at the Internet Governance Forum.
