This in-person and live-streamed event will bring together interdisciplinary researchers from 12 countries working in and across fields including Communications, Media Studies, Game Studies, Game Design, Economics, Design, Sociology, Philosophy, and Critical Finance. The keynote lecture “MONEY, THE METAVERSE & THE MAGIC CIRCLE” will be given by Dr. Rachel O’Dwyer, (Lecturer in Digital Cultures, National College of Art and Design, Dublin) on Friday 31 May, 17:00. The symposium is funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh, with additional support from the Dean of SDI, Prof. James Bowen.
