Hi Does anyone know of any research or trials using social networking sites to seek to reduce isolation or build networks for people who need help to do that. I work with people with AIDS, social reengagement is what we try to do in a range of ways, mostly real world peer support groups, with some continuation via yahoo groups etc. I wonder about Facebook as a literal visual representation of a friendship network that could build. Groups like us in Australia target dating sites frequently, sometimes using profiles, banners etc to reinforce safe sex practice. It makes me wonder how else it could be used. I'm also fairly hesitant of pushing this too far at the expense of real world stuff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rob Lake Positive Life NSW Sydney Australia
