Hi, recently, I've been noticing that i've been getting spam from AoIR.org, and I've had some reports of a virus distributed here. However, after investigation, I can confirm that none of these events have actually been disseminated from our servers. Instead, they have been, appropriated and distributed as originating from aoir.org, even though they have not. This, of course, is quite easy to do with open relays(aoir.org is not open) and should be summarily ignored by you. But if you do receive something that you think is of dubious origin but claiming to be aoir.org, please feel free to send it to postmaster(substitute@)aoir.org and I will investigate it, remember to send full headers if possible. Hi, I am starting a project to find out about adults' capacities and opportunities to communicate via visual means. The web will be one of the arenas I want to investigate. Somebody knowing any book, research report or web-site concerning this issue? Hello Air-ers, I'm starting a project on the emergent social structure of threads in an online, 3-D, synchronous class. I'm starting to search for literature on threads. If anyone out there has references to suggest, please email me off list. I'll compile them and then post back to the entire list. Thanks! I was probably not enough specific - sorry! What I meant is: how can people express themselves on the web, visually? NOT web-page design, nor html - code! I have heard about chats with visual components - do you know any research on such? Or anything similar? Thanks in advance for all hints! Yvonne (PS and thanks for those already received, although they either were not relevant to my clumsy question - or - deplorably enough - not accessible by my computer ;-( Java-error! ) -- Yvonne Waern Ph.D., Professor Department of Communication Studies Linkoeping University SE 581 83 Linkoeping Sweden e-mail: yvonne.waern@tema.liu.se http://www.tema.liu.se/people/yvowa/

Yvonne - I don't know if this is relevant (though it seems it is), but the Adaptive Technology REsource Centre at the University of Toronto (to which I have an erstwhile affiliation) does a lot of work in this area. Mostly this work concerns accessibility, but there may be osmething of interest here: http://www.utoronto.ca/atrc/rd.html the ATRC is part of the Resource Centre for Academic Technology at UofT (http://rcat.utoronto.ca/). I would encourage you to look around these sites, and would be happy to answer any queries or help out in any way. best, Robert Yvonne Waern wrote:
