Not a software solution, but I recommend Rev.com. Trint (see trint.com) works pretty well. Not perfect but I don't think any automated system is -- certainly a huge timesaver and I think it's pretty affordable. Sarah On Wed, Jul 26, 2017 at 2:37 PM, Chris Peterson <chris@cpeterson.org> wrote:

Hi Tatiana, you can give https://trint.com/ a try. I had some good experiences on audio with clear quality but also some experiences where correcting the transcript took as much time as doing it myself. All the best! Hi Tatiana - I used Express Scribe - http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/index.html - the free version was pretty solid, although I had to do some corrections. Rev.com for transcriptions. Cheap and fast. I like MaxQDA for analysis. On Jul 26, 2017 4:32 PM, "Ron Scott" <rscott@walsh.edu> wrote:

I assume you mean a tool that helps you productively type transcripts — not some AI software that “listens” and converts speech to text. If my assumption is correct, read on: Over a number of years I did millions of words of interview transcripts using Transcriva[1] for MacOS X for my upcoming book on the history of the PLATO system. I've used it for regular MP3 interview recordings, as well as transcribing .MOV and .MP4 videos of things like conference panel sessions. I’ve been a longtime fan of Transcriva. It’s worth a look. - Brian [1] http://www.bartastechnologies.com/products/transcriva/
