OT: Article/Paper reference organisational software (for Mac)
Hi all. I'm looking to organise all the articles I've looked up, downloaded - and tag them appropriately. Does anyone have a favourite bit of references organisation software? I'm on a Mac. Would love if it also had an iPhone/mobile component.
I really enjoy papers. http://mekentosj.com/papers/ <http://mekentosj.com/papers/>I have been recommending it to most of the faculty here. The functions that export the database to word have saved me quite a bit of time. It is unfortunate that it isn't on PC but I find that the naming scheme it uses for exporting libraries is valuable in keeping a neat and tidy folder on my PC. Good luck! I use Bookends from Sonny Software on OSX. Sente is also a good one to check out. Both are, if memory serves, under $100 USD. And there's always EndNote if you're feeling adventurous..... Not sure about the mobile aspects on any of them, though. -rf On Feb 24, 2010, at 18:46 , live wrote:

EndNote also has a Windows phone component, though I'm not sure about iPhone. You could always just keep them online and use delicious to keep track of them. Delicious has an iPhone app. paul emerson teusner -----Original Message----- From: air-l-bounces@listserv.aoir.org [mailto:air-l-bounces@listserv.aoir.org] On Behalf Of Richard Forno Sent: Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:17 To: live Cc: AoIR-L Aoir Subject: Re: [Air-L] OT: Article/Paper reference organisational software (for Mac) I use Bookends from Sonny Software on OSX. Hello all togehter. I use Mendeley https://www.mendeley.com It's still Beta but you could use it for almost everything concerning reference organisation. Additionally you could store your literature online to access it from everywhere. Alex Paul Emerson Teusner schrieb:

I use Bookends (http://www.sonnysoftware.com/). It's built natively for the Mac, and thus works a bit more smoothly than EndNote. And the person who owns it is very fast about responding to questions or problems. However, if I were starting from scratch, I'd probably consider Zotero, since it's free and can work cross-platform.
