Keynote speaker: Joshua Meyrowitz, author of the award-winning NO SENSE OF PLACE: THE IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA ON SOCIAL BEHAVIOR (Oxford University Press, 1985), as well as dozens of articles about media and culture. Professor of Communication at the University of New Hampshire and a graduate of NYU's doctoral program in Media Ecology, Dr. Meyrowitz will speak about promises and challenges of media ecology research. Featured presentations by Camille Paglia and Douglas Rushkoff. Additional participants include Richard Barbrook, James Carey, Mark Dery, Susan Drucker, Ray Gozzi, Gary Gumpert, Robert Logan, John Pavlik, and Jay Rosen, among others.
