Everyday Algorithms - Algocount conference, Milan 7 July 2022
With apologies for cross-posting The University of Milan, Department of Social and Political Sciences, together with Density Design (Politecnico di Milano) and the Science and Technology Museum "Leonardo da Vinci" of Milan, are happy to share the programme of the upcoming *Everyday Algorithms - Algocount conference*, which will be held at the Science and Technology Museum "Leonardo da Vinci" of Milan on 7 July, 2022. Funded by Fondazione Cariplo, the Algocount project (2020-2022) engaged in the study of algorithmic imaginaries in Italy, with a peculiar focus on processes of public opinion formation and news circulation. The conference brings together a stellar lineup of scholars interested in algorithmic imaginaries, algorithmic theory and methods, algorithmic visualization, and the role of algorithms in the formation of public opinion. Speakers include, among others, Heather Ford (University of Technology Sydney), Sophie Bishop (University of Sheffield), Massimo Airoldi (University of Milan) and many more. Joelle Swart (University of Groningen) and Simone Natale (Politecnico di Torino) will deliver a keynote speech. The conference will be held in-person and live-streamed on Zoom.
