Thought this might be of interest to those in or relatively near to Chicago on November 16th. == Storytelling and New Technology: A conversation about the future. http://mesh.medill.northwestern.edu/storytelling/ Organized by The New Media Program, Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University Sunday, Nov. 16th 2003 9 a.m -- 2 p.m. Forum, McCormick Tribune Center Medill School of Journalism Evanston, IL Held immediately following the 4th annual conference of the Online News Association, this event will bring together academics, technologists, authors and journalists to discuss the future of storytelling in the digital age. It's geared to academics already planning to come to Evanston for the ONA conference as well as journalists and academics in the Midwest with an interest in the ways technology is transforming the way people get information and entertainment. There will be three sessions scheduled, each designed to spark an active discussion of issues relevant to storytelling and new technology. Presentations will be brief; the goal will be to create dialogue. All sessions will be held in the McCormick Tribune Center, the state-of-the-art multimedia production center for the Medill School of Journalism, on the Northwestern University campus. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
