Thanks for Ph.D. Advice
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions and advice in my search for a Ph.D. I will definitely be in touch with a number of you who posted or sent personal emails that were so very beneficial. When I attended AoIR 10.0 in Milwaukee with my fiance last October, I was an unhappy sports management major who had just been told by my program coordinator that a) qualitative research wasn't real research, and b) "I'm not interested in your research." After the first session I attended, I excitedly told my fiance, "Wow, everyone here is just like me!" Thanks for being such a great community, and thanks for all your time and consideration in my doctoral program search. Cheers. Until next time, Theo
Dear all As a comment on Theo's thanks, I would say: What a great vote of confidence in the way that AoIR works as an organisation, conference and a list - a community that is inclusive, welcoming and effective. I'm really glad to see that the heart and spirit of AoIR remains!
